About

I am a environmental water quality health engineer based in Durham, NC. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at Duke University in Environmental and Civil Engineering. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering and multiple certificate and minors including; Spanish Studies, International Studies, Sustainable Built Environments, Global Health, and College Teaching. I study how built-environment water systems contribute to hospital-acquired infections and develop affordable tools for early pathogen detection in resource-limited settings. When I am not in lab I am an avid rock climber and traveler.

Beyond my academic pursuits I have immersed myself deeply in mentoring and community work. I have a strong interest in reducing social injustice in global health and engineering.
